Quick Links

The links in blue above provide an overview of the current section being covered in each of the listed courses.

A.P., Honors and C.P. Physics class grades will be determined using the following formula: 60% will be the test/quiz average and 40% will be the lab average. Each of these individual averages will be determined by using a total point value system. On the test/quiz side, tests will have a value of 100 points and other quiz and homework grades will vary and be of lesser value. On the lab side, formal lab reports will be 100 points and lab activities will typically be 25 to 40 points.

Project Physics will be a portfolio system and at the start of each section, a variety of lab, class and homework assignments will be handed out and the students will be assigned lab partners. As they work their way through each section each individual assignment will be graded and the students grade will be determined on the total points system.

The chemistry grade will be determined using a total popints system with no distinction between tests and labs. The relative value of any assignment or graded activity will be reflected in the points awarded for it. Tests will always be 100 points and they will carry the highest value, so they will have the greatest individual impact on a student grade.

Any absent student may e-mail me to find out what they missed on that day.
Current Homework Assignments:
AP Physics- The take home test on Magnetism is now due
CP Physics- The Conservation of Energy problems are now due, the Simple Machines problems will be due soon, the Efficiency of a Bow and Arrow lab and the Simple Machines labs are now due.
AP Chemistry-The research report on a chemistry topic will be due, topics should be turned in now. The Chemical Equilibrium test will be next week.
Project Physics-The three Simple Harmonic Motion labs; Simple Harmonic Motion, Velocity, Acceleration and Force in Simple Harmonic Morion, and Pendulums are now due.
