“A different language is a different vision of life.”
Welcome to Hackettstown High School!
The English as a Second Language courses offered at Hackettstown High School are designed to provide English Language Learners with vocabulary, grammar, and functional expressions necessary to communicate in a variety of academic and social contexts. Lessons provide communicative practice that involves students in interactions that are based on real-life situations.
Students will be expected to participate in all activities (listening, speaking, reading, and writing) in English only. Each student is required to have a notebook and take notes every day. Notebooks will be checked and graded at the end of each marking period. Students are also required to familiarize themselves with and obey classroom rules and policies.
Each ESL student will receive academic credits toward graduating from the Hackettstown High School; therefore, students will be assessed throughout the year. There will be tests, quizzes, projects, and homework. If you need to contact me, please call the office to schedule an appointment. I can also be found in room E7 during my off blocks and after school.
